Using Silktide Prospect

Batch analysis

  • Applies to:
  • Premium
  • Enterprise

If you have a large number of URLs to test, it is possible to upload these using the batch analysis tool instead of manually adding each URL individually. Once a batch analysis has been completed, the results can be downloaded in a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file and the reports will be viewable within Silktide Prospect itself.

Only users who are Administrators or Advanced Users have the ability to run the Batch Analysis feature within Silktide Prospect.

The batch analysis feature has many benefits, including:

  • Saves users time by uploading large volumes of websites in one go, rather than having to add them manually
  • Allows you to analyze all your leads in one go
  • Simple to segment leads so that they can be targeted with specific campaigns
  • Analyzing businesses in advance so a user can access the reports when they log in
  • Useful for understanding and profiling your websites in comparison to competitors

Before you start

Using your preferred spreadsheet application, create a CSV file and ensure that you have a column for the URLs you want to test, as the batch analysis needs this as a minimum. Each URL must be on its own row, and the maximum limit is currently 10,000 URLs. You can include additional columns if required, as custom fields can be included depending on your plan. If you wish to discuss the options available for custom fields, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

Creating a new batch

The batch analysis setting is found under your profile silhouette in the top right-hand corner. You will then be presented with the batch analysis tool, where you can upload your CSV file for batch analysis. Click the Start new batch button and you will be presented with a screen asking for additional details. Give you batch analysis a reference or name (e.g. Plumbers in Derby) then click the Choose File button where you can find and select the CSV file you just created.

On the next screen, you can choose the column that contains the URLs by selecting the appropriate letter from the drop-down menu. If you did not include headers for each column, then uncheck the box next to Row 1 contains column headers, otherwise you can leave this checked so that the batch analysis tool can exclude row 1 from the import process.

If you have enabled custom fields within your plan and have included additional columns in your CSV file, you can also match the columns to the relevant fields following the same process described above.

Finally, click Continue and the batch analysis will start.

Please note, you will be warned about running the batch analysis as the reports generated will be deducted from your monthly usage allowance. If the batch analysis includes more than your allowance, you may be billed for the additional reports as per your plan.

Downloading batch analysis results

It may take some time to generate reports for all the websites depending on how many you are testing, but you can check on the status by returning to the batch analysis page at any time. Once the batch analysis has been completed, you can access the reports either via the All reports button where they will be listed individually, or by downloading the results in bulk via the batch analysis tool itself.

To download the results in bulk, click on the blue download button next to the name of the batch you want. You can then download a new CSV file with all the results displayed accordingly.
