Using Silktide Prospect

Finding a business

  • Applies to:
  • Starter
  • Premium
  • Enterprise

There are a few ways to find a business within Silktide Prospect, via:

  • Industry sector and location (e.g. plumbers in Derby)
  • Business name
  • Website address

All methods require you to type details into the search bar at the top of the screen once you have logged into Silktide Prospect, but as we use Google Maps to find businesses, we are unable to analyze a business without a web address.

Contact details

When you attempt to analyze a business in Prospect, we will always attempt to find relevant contact information for the business based on the information you input into the search bar. In the sections below, we will explain how we attempt to find this data.

Industry sector and location

If you are looking for a wide-selection of businesses in a particular area, you can perform a general search. For example, “plumbers in Derby”, then Silktide Prospect will search Google Maps using that term.

When adding a business via this method, the information we present is based on data found in Google Maps. As such, the contact details (such as business name, telephone number and address) we present in Prospect are based on what is found relating to the business on Google Maps. If the information is not correct, it is likely that the business has inconsistent business listings on Google as we only present the information found here.

Website address

You can also search using the business’ website address by typing this into the search bar.

If contact details could not be found when adding a business via the website address, then it is likely that the business does not list the correct website address on their Google Maps listing, or the business has inconsistent contact details listed (for example, the name of the business – “My Business” vs. “My Business Ltd” could display inconsistent results).
